I’ve had it about 5 months and it’s driving me nuts. Have tried just about every natural cure and none work. Anyone have any cures that give some relief ? I’ve heard Xanax can help.

    Yes, Xanax can help.
    Avoid loud noises
Use white noise machine which masks the sound
Keeping a radio on very low volume, static
    Getting ear wax removed
Avoid nicotine & alcohol which are irritants

    Acupuncture
    Zinc 50 mg/day
    Gingko Biloba
    Hypnosis

If you have a circulatory problem that can cause tinnitus.

    Google: mayo clinic>>diseases>>tinnitus

    Good luck

Wow do a search with Wikipedia, there is a ton of information about it. It says that tinnitus is not itself a disease but a symptom resulting from a range of underlying causes, I bet you will be able to figure out what is going on and soon will be able to rid yourself of the symptoms before you do and up in the loony bin. good luck!

    Hi

I sympathise with your situation, as I have a condition that has a similar effect as tinnitus. Unfortunately there isn’t a cure for either yours or mine. I have managed to significantly improve mine though.

As someone else has said, tinnitus is actually a symptom of something else, not a condition itself. But don’t worry, it’s extremely rare that it is a symptom of anything serious.

As I’ve said, there are no cures, but there are things that can help (be careful with prescription or over the counter drugs – some of these can actually make it worse). There are techniques that can significantly reduce the ringing in the ears. I’m not medically qualified (!) so I’m not going to recommend a specific method I’m afraid, but there are a lot around on the internet. Just be careful, and never actually put anything in your ear. Good luck.
